What's that about and why not Same Old Wednesday?

Originally, starting life as social media hashtag (#wellnesswednesday), Wellness Wednesday is fast becoming a global phenomenon, evolving into a household phrase, used to promote wellness, self-care and mindfulness.
 
Google Trends It's now trending globally as a key day or date to encourage people to focus on their personal or workplace wellbeing, in order to promote a better work/life balance or wholesomeness.
 
Indeed, I've chosen today to write about this, as I myself have been running a Wellness Wednesday Workshop online for staff at our local county council in the UK because, let's face it...

The past months have been a catalyst for change.

There's a BIG shift happening and it's time to take notice of how we live our lives.

Wellness is more than just being free of illness. It is a dynamic process towards living a healthy and fulfilling life. Our focus is on optimising health and wellness and increasing both durability and sustainability. 

We, who's we?

The Virtual Wellness Hub (virtualwellnesshub.com) came about after our walk-in wellness centres were closed due to the pandemic, so we, my friend and associate, Dr Linda Khalid and I, felt there was a need for a fresh approach to wellness; promoting the need for the onus to be on the individual to nurture a more holistic, integrated healthcare approach, both in terms of

~ striving for longevity and

~ maximising one's chances of success

Linda is a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher and has never been in more demand than she is now.

The new trend is to empower employees to seek to determine their own outcomes. The message is simple:

Well, employers benefit from a more engaged and productive workforce. So it's a win-win situation all round.

Why Wednesday?

If you consider Wednesday as the mid-point day of a 5 day, Monday to Friday week, then Wednesday is the middle day and considered as the mid-way point. It has become a daily modern tradition in American English to nickname Wednesday 'Hump Day'! The analogy being that if you visualise the week to look like a hill, with Wednesday being the crest, then you reach the peak on this day and it is seen as being advantageous to pause for thought and recoup your energy so that you may cruise through the rest of the week with renewed vitality!

Who'd have thought there'd be so much to write?

I'll make it simple for you and rather than pack it all into one almighty blog, I'll create a few 'splinter' blogs for you so that you have a cluster of my little knowledge nuggets to browse through in your own time!
